I grew up in small town America, in a place which to-this-day does not have a red light. I started my photography career working for Village Photographers while attending Auburn University. This was long before the digital revolution. Every camera setting had to be set manually, forcing a photographer to develop a deep understanding of the framework and components that make great pictures. And you couldn’t instantly review the pictures you were taking as you worked. You had to wait several days until the film was developed to see what you had taken.

Later, I worked as a photojournalist honing my skills reporting news events.

Photojournalism has its roots in war photography. Happy, sad, and many times tragic — the goal was to expose the raw emotions of the moment and to tell a story.

A photojournalist’s job is to catch these moments. To tell a story by creating great photo’s that “reach into your chest and rip your heart out with emotion!”

That’s why I enjoy images done in this style.

The images you see on this site were created by me and were created from my everyday life as I wander through this world. It is my sincere hope that you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
